Tabitha Payton is a Director in Assurance and serves as the Houston market lead for the Technology, Media and Telecom Practice. She has 10 years of experience providing audit and attestation services to a broad range of privately held companies, with a primary focus on law firms, manufacturing and distribution entities, and private equity backed organizations. In addition to her core industry focus, Tabitha has experience working with companies in the technology and SaaS space. 

In her role, Tabitha provides leadership and oversight of assurance engagements, exercising professional judgment on complex accounting and reporting matters and maintaining responsibility for audit quality and client service within the Houston market. Her experience includes working closely with management teams and stakeholders on financial reporting, governance, and compliance matters. 

Tabitha currently serves as Chair of the Technology, Media and Telecom Industry Technical Committee, where she works with Assurance & Advisory Professional Standards Group (A&A PSG) and Assurance Methodology & Innovation (AMI) to identify industry specific training, guidance, and technical resource needs for assurance client service teams. In this capacity, she nominates client service professionals to collaborate on the development, field testing, and review of industry specific content and provides ongoing oversight and ownership of those resources to support consistent, high quality client service. 

Tabitha is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants. She also serves on the Women’s Forum Committee for the Houston Chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth. 
Tabitha earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business with an emphasis in accounting from Emporia State University in Kansas.
